Analytics status

BackupStoragePrices uses Plausible and Google Analytics 4 for automatic aggregate page views and five allowlisted interactions: committed calculator changes, restore-mode toggles, receipt-line expansions, dated evidence-link openings, and successful copy or export actions. Google Analytics starts with analytics and advertising storage denied, so the site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. An interaction is not sent when its required controlled context cannot be resolved.

Automatic page views send the current page address and the browser-provided referrer to both services: Plausible calls them URL and referrer; Google Analytics calls them page location and page referrer. The current page address includes its query string. A same-site referrer can include its path and query; cross-site referrer detail may be reduced by browser or referrer policy. Do not put credentials, account identifiers or other private information in a BackupStoragePrices URL.

The five custom interactions send only allowlisted controlled context. They do not include a merchant or destination URL, contact-form values, exact calculator inputs, exact prices or totals, free text, account identifiers, persistent visitor identifiers or advertising identifiers. Internal provider-page navigation is not counted as a vendor or commercial click because the launch site has no outbound commercial provider action. Personal data is not sold.

Information you provide

You do not need to create an account, provide a name or enter an email address to use the public comparison and data pages. Calculator values are used in the browser to render the result; analytics receives only the allowlisted field name and a broad value class after a successful committed change, never the exact value or bill.

If the homepage offers Save the receipt and you choose it, one schema-versioned receipt, its calculator workload and its source dates are stored in this browser's localStorage. Those exact inputs and figures remain on this device, are never sent to BackupStoragePrices, and are available only to this browser profile. When the full receipt controls are available, Reopen reads that checked receipt verbatim and separately fetches the latest published calculator checked price data available on the site for comparison; it does not continuously monitor vendor pages. A clear-only deployment keeps removal available but does not automatically delete the local copy. Clear saved receipt removes it; clearing this site's browser data also removes it. The optional calendar reminder, when available, contains only a generic recheck title and the public homepage link; it contains no workload, provider, price, total or receipt identifier.

The contact form sends the fields you choose through a Cloudflare Worker and Turnstile security check to a private operator channel. Use it for corrections and privacy questions, and do not include storage credentials, account keys, invoices, or other secrets.

Ordinary hosting infrastructure may process request metadata needed to deliver and protect the site. This policy does not claim that technical server logs never exist. BackupStoragePrices does not use such metadata to build visitor profiles.

Links to vendor sources

Price figures link to vendor documentation so a reader can check the evidence. Opening one of those links sends your browser to a site operated by that vendor, and the destination's privacy policy applies to that visit.

A source link shows where a claim came from; it is not an instruction to create an account. Review the destination URL before leaving BackupStoragePrices, especially when a vendor page redirects by region.

Privacy questions

Use the contact form for privacy questions. State the page or interaction involved and avoid submitting credentials or private billing records.

If this policy changes because the site's data collection changes, the updated date on this page changes with it. The policy should describe the running site, not a planned analytics setup.
