What a restore actually costs, line by line
A restore estimate that keeps retrieval, restore requests, temporary readable-copy storage, ordinary read requests, and destination-specific egress on separate lines. Unpublished rates remain visible states, and a read-only restore never receives an early-deletion charge.

A restore bill has more than one price per gigabyte
Archive retrieval makes data readable; egress moves those readable bytes to a named destination. Offline classes can also charge one restore request per object and storage for a temporary readable copy. The calculator keeps those meters separate so a low archive storage rate cannot hide a costly recovery path. [1] [2]
The default destination is the public internet, not an unlabeled generic transfer. Same-region, cross-region, and CDN or partner paths can resolve to different rules. Monthly allowances are reduced by other transfer already entered for the month before the restore bytes enter the graduated tiers. [1]
A read-only restore leaves the archived source intact. Retrieval, restore requests, read requests, temporary-copy storage, and egress can apply, but early deletion does not apply unless a separate action mutates the source before its minimum duration. [2]

A captured partial Deep Archive example isolates retrieval and egress
The dataset reference workload uses 10,000 GB stored in S3 Glacier Deep Archive in US East, 1,000 GB of ordinary monthly public-internet transfer, 500,000 Class A operations, and 2,000,000 Class B operations. At the captured rates, archive storage is $9.90, internet egress is $81.00 after the 100 GB allowance, and operations are $25.80, producing $116.70. [1] [4]
The recovery comparison adds a 10,000 GB Standard retrieval and raises total monthly public-internet transfer from 1,000 GB to 11,000 GB. Retrieval is $200.00 and graduated egress becomes $977.70, while the same $9.90 storage and $25.80 existing-operation lines remain. The total is $1,213.40, which is 10.3976 times the normal result and rounds to a 10.4x swing. [1] [4]
This captured $1,213.40 comparison is intentionally partial, not the current calculator default and not a complete restore quote. The fixture does not define restore-object count or restored-copy duration, so it cannot add restore requests or temporary S3 Standard storage. The current complete worked receipt above supplies those inputs and prices both lines through the canonical engine. [2]

Every archive-capable offer keeps the missing line visible
The matrix covers the 19 region-specific records that either carry an archive or glacier class name, expose archive access inside Intelligent-Tiering, or sell the dataset's cold backup offer. Online archive classes mark a temporary readable copy does not apply; offline offers show the applicable temporary-storage formula or the exact unpublished state. [1]
Retrieval latency is shown only where the provider record or linked official documentation publishes it. A missing latency, request classification, restored-copy rate, or overage schedule remains not published or unknown rather than being converted to zero. [1]
Public-internet transfer is the stated destination for every egress line below. Changing the destination makes the calculator resolve the same-region, cross-region, or partner-path meter instead. [1]

Wasabi's restore crosses a policy boundary, not a priced tier
Wasabi is an online hot-storage offer rather than an archive class, but its full-restore receipt exposes the dataset's most important unpublished overage. Retrieval and API requests are not charged, while the egress guideline covers monthly transfer less than or equal to active storage. [22]
At 10,000 GB active storage, the reference 1,000 GB normal transfer remains inside the guideline. Adding a 10,000 GB full restore raises monthly transfer to 11,000 GB, or 1,000 GB above the boundary, and Wasabi publishes no per-GB overage rate to multiply by that excess. [22]
The metered numeric lines still sum to $78.03 after rounding, but the recovery result is conditional rather than a complete $78.03 quote. Repeated excess can lead to limitation or suspension, so the receipt carries that policy line next to the missing overage rate. [22]

An unpublished restore line prevents a false total
DigitalOcean Cold now publishes retrieval and public-internet egress but still omits request prices and restored-copy behavior. OVHcloud Cold Archive says retrieval fees apply without exposing the rate in the captured text, and Vultr Archive requires restoration without publishing a per-GB retrieval price. Those receipts stop at not published instead of treating the missing line as $0. [12] [15] [16]
Scaleway publishes its Glacier restore and internet-transfer prices in EUR. The receipt remains complete in EUR, but a USD total is not comparable until the user supplies a dated exchange-rate source. [13]
No vendor in this archive matrix has an invented temporary-copy rate. Where the dataset does not publish a restored-copy schedule, the line says not published even when retrieval and egress are otherwise known. [1]
