Vendor
Storj pricing for backup storage
Storj Standard charges the same $0.007 per GB for storage and public egress, with no request or retrieval charge. The bill can still be shaped by a $5 monthly invoice floor, a 50 KB minimum billable object size, and a 30-day minimum storage duration.
Price your own workload against every vendor, including the worst-day restore and how long it takes to come back.
What the pricing page does not lead with
The $5 minimum is an invoice floor, not bundled capacity.
Usage meters continue from the first billable byte and the floor only raises a low subtotal. Trial accounts, STORJ-token payments, and custom contracts have published exceptions.
Source, checked 2026-07-26Every object is billed as at least 50 KB.
Repository object layout can determine whether the invoice is dominated by logical bytes or the per-object floor.
Source, checked 2026-07-25T15:34:44ZThe paid Standard row has no permanent free-egress allowance.
A restore pays $0.007 for every downloaded GB even though requests and retrieval are free.

The rest of this vendor's non-obvious rules2 more
The 30-day duration rule is mutation-triggered.
Delete and overwrite can create a remainder; a read-only recovery cannot. Storj publishes an Object Mount exemption with its own plan conditions.
Source, checked 2026-07-26Storj's current pricing page publishes an Advanced offer with US-only placement alongside the globally distributed Standard offer, while data/providers.json captures Standard only.
The captured Standard bill cannot be presented as every current Storj offer. Advanced is not comparable until it receives its own canonical record.

Low-usage month reaches the invoice floor$5.00
Billable storage GB: 100 · Internet egress GB: 0 · Class a operations: 500,000 · Class b operations: 2,000,000
Sources: Storj: Pricing: storage, egress, invoice floor, requests, and retrieval, checked 2026-07-25T15:34:44Z
| Storage usage | $0.70 |
|---|---|
| Internet egress | $0.00 |
| Requests and retrieval | not charged |
| Invoice-floor uplift | $4.30 |
| Total | $5.00 |
Usage subtotal = 100 GB x $0.007 = $0.70. The $5 floor is an invoice minimum, so the uplift is $5.00 - $0.70 = $4.30 and the invoice is $5.00.
Read-only full restore of 1,000 GB$14.00

| Storage | $7.00 |
|---|---|
| Internet egress | $7.00 |
| Requests and retrieval | not charged |
| Early deletion | does not apply |
| Invoice-floor uplift | $0.00 |
| Total | $14.00 |
Storage = 1,000 x $0.007 = $7.00. Egress = 1,000 x $0.007 = $7.00. The $14.00 usage subtotal exceeds the $5 invoice floor. Requests and retrieval are not charged, and a read-only restore does not activate early deletion.
Twenty million 1 KB objects expose the 50 KB floor$7.00
Object count: 20,000,000 · Actual object size KB: 1 · Minimum billable object size KB: 50 · Internet egress GB: 0
Sources: Storj: Pricing: 50 KB object floor, storage rate, and invoice floor, checked 2026-07-25T15:34:44Z
| Logical payload | 20 GB |
|---|---|
| Billable storage after the 50 KB floor | 1,000 GB |
| Storage | $7.00 |
| Invoice-floor uplift | $0.00 |
| Total | $7.00 |
Logical payload = 20,000,000 x 1 KB = 20 GB under the dataset's decimal convention. Billable storage = 20,000,000 x 50 KB = 1,000 GB. Storage = 1,000 x $0.007 = $7.00, which is above the $5 floor.
Delete 1,000 GB after 10 days$7.00
Stored GB: 1,000 · Object age at deletion days: 10 · Minimum storage duration days: 30 · Operation: delete, not restore

| First 10 days of storage | $2.3333 |
|---|---|
| Remaining 20 minimum-duration days | $4.6667 |
| Invoice-floor uplift | $0.00 |
| Total | $7.00 |
A 30-day month at 1,000 GB costs $7.00. Elapsed storage = $7.00 x 10/30 = $2.3333. The early-deletion remainder = $7.00 x 20/30 = $4.6667. Total duration charge = $7.00. This is a delete scenario, not a restore.

Every class, and the rules that change its bill
1 class captured for this vendor. Each rule below is a published condition that moves a real line on the bill, with the page it came from.
Standard6 rules
Globally distributed S3-compatible object storage for online backups and restores.
| Rule | Value | Why it moves the bill |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | $0.007 per GB-month | Billable bytes are measured after the 50 KB per-object floor. |
| Internet egress | $0.007 per GB with no permanent free allowance on the paid Standard row | A full restore adds a transfer line equal to the stored-data line when the same number of GB is downloaded. |
| Minimum monthly invoice | $5 invoice floor, not a credit | Usage below $5 is raised to $5; the floor does not include a fixed quantity of storage or egress. |
| Minimum billable object size | 50 KB | Small objects can consume much more billable storage than their logical payload. |
| Minimum storage duration | 30 days with a prorated early-deletion remainder | Deleting or overwriting data before day 30 can bill the unused duration. A read-only restore does not. |
| API requests and retrieval | not charged | The modeled receipt has no Class A, Class B, or separate retrieval fee. |
