Tigris pricing for backup storage

Tigris publishes free regional, cross-region, and internet egress across four storage classes. The restore bill instead moves through storage, request allowances, class-specific retrieval, and for Archive, a temporary Standard copy. Extraordinary bandwidth remains policy-shaped because the pricing page directs the buyer to contact Tigris without publishing a threshold or overage rate.

Price your own workload against every vendor, including the worst-day restore and how long it takes to come back.

What the pricing page does not lead with

  • Free egress is not a free restore across all classes.

Infrequent Access and Archive Instant Retrieval add $0.01 and $0.03 per GiB retrieval, and Archive adds temporary Standard storage.

    Source, checked 2026-07-25T15:34:44Z
  • Archive and Archive Instant Retrieval have the same storage rate but different recovery paths.

Archive uses a temporary Standard copy, while Archive Instant Retrieval charges $0.03 per GiB directly.

    Source, checked 2026-07-25T15:34:44Z
  • Only Standard receives the published 5 GiB storage free tier.

Applying it to the lower-cost classes understates their storage lines.

The rest of this vendor's non-obvious rules4 more
  • Extraordinary bandwidth has no published threshold or price.

The page cannot promise unlimited recovery treatment beyond a policy that requires vendor contact.

    Source, checked 2026-07-26
  • Infrequent Access has a 30-day minimum, while Archive and Archive Instant Retrieval have 90-day minimums.

Delete, update, or transition before the minimum charges the remaining period. Reading or restoring without mutating the source does not.

    Source, checked 2026-07-26
  • Object notifications are billed separately at $0.01 per 1,000 events in every published class.

data/providers.json does not contain this supplemental operation meter, so notification-bearing receipts remain stale rather than treating events as free.

    Source, checked 2026-07-26
  • Tigris monthly storage is the average of each day's peak storage during the billing period.

A month-end snapshot cannot reproduce the bill when capacity changes during the month.

Every class, and the rules that change its bill

4 classes captured for this vendor. Each rule below is a published condition that moves a real line on the bill, with the page it came from.

Standard7 rules

Frequently accessed globally placed objects and backup repositories.

Published rules that move the bill for Standard
RuleValueWhy it moves the bill
StorageFirst 5 GiB free monthly, then $0.02 per GiB-monthOnly Standard receives the published free storage band.
Class A operations10,000 free monthly, then $0.005 per 1,000Write-oriented operations have a small allowance.
Class B operations100,000 free monthly, then $0.0005 per 1,000Large object-count restores can add a read-request line.
Regional, cross-region, and internet egress plus retrievalnot chargedThe Standard restore keeps byte-transfer and retrieval at $0 while operations remain.
Extraordinary bandwidthconditional: contact Tigris; no threshold or overage rate publishedThe unlimited-egress claim has a policy edge that cannot be converted into a dollar rate.
Minimum duration and early deletiondoes not applyStandard has no duration remainder.
Minimum billable object sizenot publishedNo small-object floor is inferred.
Infrequent Access6 rules

Infrequently accessed online backups where lower storage cost offsets paid retrieval.

Published rules that move the bill for Infrequent Access
RuleValueWhy it moves the bill
Storage and retrieval$0.01 per GiB-month storage and $0.01 per GiB retrievedA full restore adds a retrieval line equal to one month of storage.
Class A and Class B operations10,000 A and 100,000 B free monthly, then $0.005 and $0.0005 per 1,000Cold data keeps the same separate request thresholds.
Regional, cross-region, and internet egressnot chargedFree egress does not remove retrieval or request charges.
Extraordinary bandwidthconditional: contact Tigris; no threshold or overage rate publishedAn extraordinary recovery cannot receive an invented unlimited guarantee.
Minimum storage duration30 days with a prorated early-deletion remainderMutation can bill the unused duration; a read-only restore cannot.
Minimum billable object sizenot publishedNo object-size uplift is added.
Archive7 rules

Archived backups that can tolerate creation of a temporary Standard readable copy.

Published rules that move the bill for Archive
RuleValueWhy it moves the bill
Archive storage$0.004 per GiB-monthThe low archive line excludes the restored Standard copy.
Retrieval and temporary copyretrieval not charged; restored data is billed as Standard storage for the selected durationThe restore needs size and retained-copy days even though the retrieval meter is $0.
Class A and Class B operations10,000 A and 100,000 B free monthly, then $0.005 and $0.0005 per 1,000Restore and read requests remain billable above their allowances.
Regional, cross-region, and internet egressnot chargedThe restored copy can leave Tigris without a metered egress line.
Extraordinary bandwidthconditional: contact Tigris; no published overagePolicy risk remains visible.
Minimum storage duration90 days with a prorated early-deletion remainderRemoving archive data early can bill the remaining storage duration.
Minimum billable object sizenot publishedNo small-object floor is inferred.
Archive Instant Retrieval6 rules

Archive-priced storage requiring immediate reads without a separate restore-copy step.

Published rules that move the bill for Archive Instant Retrieval
RuleValueWhy it moves the bill
Storage and retrieval$0.004 per GiB-month storage and $0.03 per GiB retrievedInstant reads remove the restore delay but add the highest captured Tigris retrieval rate.
Class A and Class B operations10,000 A and 100,000 B free monthly, then $0.005 and $0.0005 per 1,000Operation allowances remain separate from retrieval.
Regional, cross-region, and internet egressnot chargedFree transfer does not offset the $0.03 retrieval line.
Extraordinary bandwidthconditional: contact Tigris; no published overagePolicy replaces a priced extreme-use tier.
Minimum storage duration90 days with a prorated early-deletion remainderMutation can owe remaining duration; a read-only restore cannot.
Minimum billable object sizenot publishedNo object-size floor is assumed.
