Tigris is cheap to keep and dearer to get back: on a 10 TB backup it is the 4th cheapest of the 18 vendors with both bills for a normal month but the 11th cheapest for the month you restore everything.
What adds to a Tigris bill besides storage
From Tigris's published rules, per class and region. "Not published" means Tigris's pricing pages do not state it.

Reading data is the charge for reading what is stored, billed on top of any download charge. Downloads: no download fees. Deleting an object before its minimum storage period ends still bills the remaining time.

Every Tigris class priced on your numbers, for a normal month and for the month you restore. A charge Tigris does not publish stays named on the bill, never counted as zero.
When Tigris does not save you money
Tigris costs more than most vendors in a normal month for 1 TB of app files with public downloads, and in the month you restore for a 2 TB NAS offsite copy, a 10 TB backup repository, a 5 TB photo archive and 1 TB of app files with public downloads. The widest gap is a 100 TB compliance archive, a normal month: $373.03 at Tigris against $99.34 at Amazon S3 (S3 Glacier Deep Archive). Tigris Archive would cost less in both months for a 2 TB NAS offsite copy, a 5 TB photo archive and 1 TB of app files with public downloads ($8.08 for a 2 TB NAS offsite copy, a normal month) but is left out of these places, because we have no ready time from Tigris to check against the limit each of those backups sets for data to be ready.

Each backup is a preset of the home calculator, priced with its other defaults on prices checked 17 October to 6 November 2026. A place counts each vendor's cheapest class that meets the backup's limit on how long data may take to be ready, among the vendors with a full bill for that month. Price your own backup above.
Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it, which takes up to 12 hours, and Amazon S3 bills each file for at least 180 days.
Tigris Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it (Tigris publishes no time for it), and Tigris bills each file for at least 90 days.
Oracle OCI Object Storage Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it (Oracle says the first byte comes back within an hour, but not when the whole file is ready), and Oracle bills each file for at least 90 days.
Alternatives to Tigris: every other vendor ranked against it, with what moving 10 TB costs and when the saving pays it back.
Head to head: Tigris against OVHcloud Object Storage, both bills on the same backups.

Questions buyers ask about Tigris
Is Tigris egress really free?
Regional, cross-region, and internet egress are not charged in every class. Extraordinary bandwidth is different: Tigris asks you to contact it but publishes no threshold or overage price, so free egress is not a guarantee of unlimited downloads.
What happens if I delete or transition Tigris cold data early?
Infrequent Access has a 30-day minimum; Archive and Archive Instant Retrieval use 90 days. Delete, update, or transition before the minimum can bill the unused period. A read-only restore does not trigger early deletion. Standard has no minimum duration. The lifecycle rule that moves data between classes costs nothing itself: Tigris bills the object at the new class's rate from the moment it moves.
Do all Tigris classes get the 5 GiB storage free tier?
No. Only Standard receives the 5 GiB monthly storage allowance. Applying it to Infrequent Access, Archive, or Archive Instant Retrieval would understate their storage lines.
Does Tigris bill the storage shown at month-end?
Not by a simple month-end snapshot. Tigris publishes monthly storage as the average of each day's peak storage during the billing period. Capacity changes during the month can therefore produce a different bill from the last day's value.
Can I use Tigris as an immutable backup target?
Not verified. The pricing page lists Object Lock-related request names, but the checked official material does not publish enforcement semantics, governance and compliance behavior, versioning prerequisites, retention limits, or a named immutable-backup integration.
