Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it, which takes up to 12 hours, and Amazon S3 bills each file for at least 180 days.

OVHcloud Object Storage Cold Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it, which takes up to 2 days, and OVHcloud bills each file for at least 4,380 hours.

Oracle OCI Object Storage Archive: each file must be restored before you can download it (Oracle says the first byte comes back within an hour, but not when the whole file is ready), and Oracle bills each file for at least 90 days.

Questions buyers ask about OVHcloud Object Storage

Does OVHcloud include public egress and requests?

OVHcloud's worldwide price list marks public outgoing traffic and S3 operations as not charged. That does not make every restore free: Infrequent Access, Active Archive, and Cold Archive all charge retrieval, and a restored Cold Archive copy is also billed at the Standard storage rate for as long as you keep it.

Can I calculate a complete OVHcloud Cold Archive restore?

Yes. OVHcloud's price list gives Cold Archive a per-GiB retrieval fee, and the restored data is billed as Standard storage for as long as you keep it. Public outgoing traffic and S3 operations are included, so a full restore costs the retrieval fee plus that Standard storage, and the restore bills on this page include both.

What happens if I remove OVHcloud archive data early?

Infrequent Access has a 30-day minimum, Active Archive 90 days, and Cold Archive 180 days, each with a prorated early-deletion remainder. A read-only restore pays retrieval where applicable but does not trigger early deletion.

Can I compare OVHcloud regions with these prices?

Not directly. The Paris and Gravelines prices here are for different storage classes, so the difference between them is not a difference of location alone. When both class and region change, you cannot see what the location changes.

Can I use OVHcloud Object Storage as an immutable target?

Yes for the documented S3 classes, but Cold Archive is conditional. OVHcloud's Object Storage FAQ says the Object Lock API is unavailable for Cold Archive, while its Cold Archive v2 FAQ says versioning and Object Lock are supported. Cold Archive eligibility remains unknown until the vendor resolves the conflict for the exact offer.

Does OVHcloud publish a minimum billable object size?

Not for the five offers priced here. OVHcloud's class pages do not publish a minimum object size, so we add no small-object charge and do not claim there is none.
