Infrequent Access crosses Standard at 155% read per month
Above the shared first 10 GB of free storage, OCI Standard costs $0.0255 per GB-month and Infrequent Access costs $0.01 per GB-month plus $0.01 per retrieved GB. Solving ($0.0255 - $0.01) / $0.01 gives 1.55, or 155% of stored bytes read per month. [1]
Infrequent Access has a 31-day minimum. On a 30-day month convention, the byte crossover corresponds to 1.55 x 31 / 30 = 1.6017 full reads during that minimum. Preserving the source during a read-only restore does not trigger the prorated remainder because nothing is deleted or overwritten. [2] [1]

Archive has no retrieval-byte fee but its restored Standard copy can erase the saving
OCI Archive costs $0.0026 per GB-month above the first 10 GB and has retrieval not charged. There is no retrieval-byte crossover against Standard. Restored objects are billed in Standard while readable, so restored-copy duration replaces retrieval frequency as the paid access variable. [1] [2]
A full restored copy adds $0.0255 / 30 = $0.00085 per GB-day on the 30-day convention. Archive saves $0.0255 - $0.0026 = $0.0229 per GB-month, so 0.0229 / 0.00085 = 26.94 restored-copy days in a month erase the byte-storage saving. [1] [2]

The first 10,000 GB of monthly internet egress changes the restore decision
The dataset gives OCI a 10,000 GB monthly internet-egress allowance and a $0.0085 per GB rate above it. A 12,000 GB public restore with the full allowance available therefore adds (12,000 - 10,000) x $0.0085 = $17.00 of egress. [3]
Archive restoration preserves the Archive object and creates a Standard-readable state. The receipt can include requests, Standard copy storage, and destination-aware egress, but early deletion does not apply unless the workflow also deletes or overwrites the source before day 90. [2] [1] [3]
