Read a restore estimate one meter at a time, then check whether every required line supports a complete total. An unknown charge is a missing answer, not free usage.

Read each line as a separate meter
A restore can touch several meters. The receipt keeps them separate so a low storage price cannot hide a costly recovery path. [1] [4]
A line shows a number only when the checked source publishes enough information to price it. Otherwise it shows a clear status. [6]

Not published is a result, not zero
Zero means the source explicitly prices the meter at zero or says it is not charged. Not published means the checked source gives no usable number. [4] [6]
Unknown also never means zero. It means the evidence is insufficient to make the stronger not charged, not published, or does not apply claim. [3] [4] [6]

A restore reads the source
This receipt models retrieval, requests, temporary-copy storage, and egress. It leaves the source object in place. [2] [1]
Read-only restoration never triggers early deletion. Delete, overwrite, move, or transition before a minimum duration is a different action. [1] [4] [6]

The total is a public-list-price estimate
The receipt applies the entered workload to public prices checked on the stated retrieval date. It is an estimate, not a vendor invoice. [3] [4] [6]
The receipt does not claim to know your final metered usage, unused allowance, account credits, negotiated terms, taxes, or prices after the source date. [3] [4] [6]
A complete numeric estimate requires every required line to be priceable. A numeric subtotal beside Not published, Unknown, Stale, Not comparable, or an unpriced Conditional line is not a complete total. [6]

The explanations cite these sources. Each numbered reference in the text links to its entry here. Vendors change prices; if a date looks old, check the source. Three vendors publish a downloadable price feed and the rest are re-checked by hand, which is why the dates are not uniform.
