Committed offers are a separate comparison, never a hidden ranking discount
The self-serve rankings use on-demand public list prices. A private quote cannot enter that ranking because another reader cannot verify the rate, term, capacity, region, support bundle, or overage treatment. AWS Private Pricing, Backblaze B2 Reserve, Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage, Storj reserved capacity, Oracle Universal Credits, Tigris Enterprise, Filebase Enterprise, and Telnyx volume pricing all require contract-specific handling. Even public commitments do not share one discount column. Azure reserves a fixed storage quantity, IDrive e2 sells prepaid yearly capacity with a first-year promotion, Oracle commits spend across eligible OCI services, and B2 Reserve bundles storage, transactions, and a defined egress allowance. Only a few vendors publish an object-storage commitment shape
Every vendor remains visible, but only terms and discount shapes found on official pages are stated. not published means the checked public material does not expose a verifiable object-storage rate or term; it does not mean the vendor will refuse a negotiated contract. [15] [16] [18]
A commitment program that explicitly covers compute but not object storage does not apply to this comparison. Scaleway and OVHcloud publish Savings Plans, but their current eligible-product lists exclude object storage. [19] [21]

A storage discount is not a restore discount
Egress, requests, retrieval, temporary-copy storage, support, base fees, and policy constraints can remain after a storage commitment. The committed comparison therefore needs the same meter-by-meter receipt as the on-demand comparison, with only the contracted fields replaced. [2] [5] [7] [8]
A restore is read-only and never triggers early deletion. Early-deletion or minimum-duration remainder charges apply only when an object is deleted, overwritten, moved, or transitioned before its class minimum. [14] [7]

Compare a commitment only after its contract fields are known
The public list-price result is the baseline. A committed offer can be evaluated beside it only when capacity, term, payment timing, region, class, support, overage, operation, retrieval, egress, renewal, and unused-capacity treatment are known. Azure publishes most of those selection fields; quote-only vendors do not publish enough to compute a reader-verifiable total. [2] [5] [6] [10]
Unused commitments are not free capacity. Azure reservations purchase a fixed quantity for the term, Scaleway's unrelated compute Savings Plans bill the committed amount even when usage is lower, and Oracle forfeits credits left at the end of the contract. [2] [19] [10]
