Which vendors publish reserved capacity pricing, and what it commits you to

Two vendors here publish what a storage commitment costs: Azure, tier by tier and region by region, and IDrive e2, with prepaid yearly plans. Reserving 100 TiB of Cool storage in United States (East US) for a year costs $1,276.33 a month against $1,556.48 paying as you go, 18% less, and for three years $1,027.28, 34% less. You pay for the whole 100 TiB, so the one-year reservation costs less only once you keep at least 82.1 TiB in Cool. Azure sells no reservation for Cold, and Cold paying as you go, $368.64 for 100 TiB, already costs less than either Cool reservation, though it bills each file for at least 90 days and charges to read it back. IDrive e2's yearly plans cost $59.50 per TB a year at every size from 1 TB to 1,000 TB: 100 TB is $5,950.00 a year, $495.83 a month against $600.00 paying as you go, 17% less, and IDrive takes 50% off the first year for now ($2,975.00 for 100 TB). Paying for three years at once costs three times the yearly price, $17,850.00, so the only further saving is that first-year discount: $14,875.00 with it, $413.19 a month over the three years, 31% less than paying as you go.

Storage a month for 100 TiB (102,400 GB as Azure bills stored data, in binary GB), paying as you go against a 100 TiB reservation of the same tier, region and redundancy, paid by the month. A reservation covers stored data only: operations, early deletion and downloads are billed as before.

Committed offers are compared separately from our rankings
The self-serve rankings use on-demand public list prices. A private quote cannot enter that ranking because another reader cannot verify the rate, term, capacity, region, support bundle, or overage terms. AWS Private Pricing, Backblaze B2 Reserve, Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage, Storj reserved capacity, Oracle Universal Credits, Tigris Enterprise, Filebase Enterprise, and Telnyx volume pricing all require contract-specific handling. Even public commitments do not share one discount column. Azure reserves a fixed storage quantity, IDrive e2 sells prepaid yearly capacity with a first-year promotion, Oracle commits spend across eligible OCI services, and B2 Reserve bundles storage, transactions, and a defined egress allowance. Which vendors publish an object-storage commitment offer
Every vendor is listed, but we state only terms and discount shapes found on official pages. not published means the checked public material does not expose a verifiable object-storage rate or term; it does not mean the vendor will refuse a negotiated contract. [15] [16] [18]
A commitment program that covers compute but not object storage does not apply to this comparison. Scaleway and OVHcloud publish Savings Plans, but their current eligible-product lists exclude object storage. [19] [21]

A storage discount is not a restore discount
Egress, requests, retrieval, temporary-copy storage, support, base fees, and policy constraints can remain after a storage commitment. The committed comparison therefore needs the same charge-by-charge bill as the on-demand comparison, with only the contracted rates replaced. [2] [5] [7] [8]
A restore is read-only and never triggers early deletion. Early-deletion or minimum-duration remainder charges apply only when an object is deleted, overwritten, moved, or transitioned before its class minimum. [14] [7]

What to know before comparing a commitment
The public list-price result is the baseline. A committed offer can be evaluated beside it only when capacity, term, payment timing, region, class, support, overage, operation, retrieval, egress, renewal, and unused-capacity terms are known. Azure publishes most of those selection fields; quote-only vendors do not publish enough to compute a reader-verifiable total. [2] [5] [6] [10]
Unused commitments are not free capacity. Azure reservations purchase a fixed quantity for the term, Scaleway's unrelated compute Savings Plans bill the committed amount even when usage is lower, and Oracle forfeits credits left at the end of the contract. [2] [19] [10]
